Working at Katrium was an educational experience. When looking for an internship position, I was interested in an international company that could teach me real hands-on research and outreach. Katrium stood out to me because its focus was on market research, customer acquisition, and multilingual projects. I applied because I wanted a professional, structured, and global experience of remote internships, which would strengthen my research and communication skills in a real business environment.

What I hoped to accomplish while working at Katrium

Before I started, I wanted to achieve three things:

  • Structure a clear and repeatable process for recruiting and evaluating leads
  • Build trust in professional tools such as Google, LinkedIn, technology profiles, and basic AI summaries
  • Understand how sales and marketing teams work together and how my research supports them

I also wanted to experience working in a completely remote environment. I found it beneficial to learn how to manage time, record work, and communicate clearly without being in the same room. Working at Katrium gave me insight and practical experience to reach these goals I had set for myself, which was excellent for my professional growth.

What I learned during the internship

From the beginning, the work felt practical. There were many things working at Katrium taught me, from learning to convert the ideal customer profile into a focus list to writing SEO optimized articles.

Basic recruitment

I learned to read job requirements, build candidates’ profiles, and efficiently seek talent. I have practiced reviewing resumes, shortlisting, and writing concise candidate notes, which allowed anyone on the team to act smoothly.

LinkedIn and Indeed

LinkedIn has helped me map companies, search by title or prestige, and identify decision makers. While using Indeed, I learned to write clear posts, use filters and keywords, and compare the quality of responses. Together, these tools helped me understand both sides of hiring: what talent is needed and what employers need.

Blog writing and content structure

I wrote short blogs and landing pages with SEO optimisation in mind. Establishing a hook, explaining the problem, offering a solution, and creating a CTA summary became like second nature as part of working at Katrium. I focused on simple language, keyword clarity, and internal linking. The flow of editing and the addition of sources taught me to write faster and more clearly. Keeping the links and dates in my notes made it easier to check my work and built a habit of accuracy.

Remote work experience

The main lesson I took away from this remote internship experience was to work with a simple and reliable rhythm. Plan, study, verify, and then act. Focusing on these tasks helped me move faster without losing quality. Simple file names, shared tracking, and the writing of concise updates ensured that everyone was up to date. These habits will come in handy in my future roles.

Remote work in Katrium was smooth and supportive. Clear guidelines, shared spreadsheets, and quick check-ins made it easy to collaborate. I learned to ask short, specific questions and recommend the next steps when I was flagged. I also saw the power of non-synchronous work: when documenting sources and decisions, teammates in other time zones could push projects forward. This was the main strength of working at Katrium remotely.

Why working at Katrium was beneficial

Because my work required combined skills and a strategic mindset, I have improved the speed and accuracy of my research. I have also learned to think like a teammate: what does the next person need to do? What steps should I take to ensure the next person’s job is easier? This change from “my task” to “our workflow” was the biggest victory in my approach.

What I gained for the future

In the future, the following toolkit will accompany me wherever it can be beneficial: disciplined research, clean documentation, respectful communication, and a test-and-learn approach to outreach. All skills I learned while working at Katrium. I also feel confident that I can do high-quality work in a remote and fast-moving environment.

Who I’d recommend Katrium to

I recommend this experience of remote internships to students and early career professionals who enjoy structured research, clear writing, and practical problem-solving. It is a perfect fit for people who are interested in lead generation, market intelligence, and customer outreach.
