Hello, my name is Lily Lacheray, and as a final-year Bachelor’s student in Management, I completed an international internship at Katrium. In this article, I’ll detail how this opportunity helped me grow both professionally and personally.
I was looking for an international internship that would immerse me in the world of business. Katrium caught my attention with the wide range of missions it offered to interns, allowing them to explore various management fields. Diversity, I believe, is a valuable experience for students, helping them to know themselves better and to discover their true interests and career aspirations.
From the very beginning, my internship at Katrium has been both challenging and rewarding. Seeking an internship with significant responsibilities to develop my project management skills, I found this experience matched my goals perfectly.

Responsibilities and Learning Experiences
One of my main missions during this summer internship was managing the recruitment process. After just one week, I was entrusted with this task, which became one of my main responsibilities. I quickly became proficient using different tools, such as Indeed for Employers. I was responsible for writing and posting job descriptions, responding to candidates, selecting potential hires, and managing work contracts. At first, I was overwhelmed by the high volume of applicants, as there were initially more than 500 candidates. However, with the support of my team, I developed an effective workflow to manage the process successfully.
In addition to the human resources parts, I discovered a new area: web marketing. I had the mission to create content for Katrium’s website, which initiated me into search engine optimization. I’ve learned about the importance of SEO in improving the online visibility of a company, and I have applied this knowledge in practice. Despite initially having no prior experience in SEO, I acquired the capacity to use it efficiently. I was also responsible for sending daily marketing emails to potential customers.
Project management was a significant aspect of my internship at Katrium. I had the opportunity to use platforms like Asana and improve my proficiency with Google Workspace tools (Sheets, Docs, and Slides). My tasks included conducting market research, using various databases, and gaining experience in business prospecting. These experiences have greatly improved my project management skills.

Beyond the technical skills I acquired, this internship was also a valuable human experience. Working within an international team with English as the language of communication has improved my ability to work and communicate effectively in a cross-cultural environment. I learned the importance of understanding my teammates’ personalities to work more efficiently and achieve our goals.
One of the aspects I appreciated most about my international internship at Katrium was the flexibility it offered. We had the freedom to manage our tasks in the way that suited us the best, as long as we met our objectives. The autonomy allowed me to experience what it’s like to be a junior manager, learning how to delegate tasks and guide teammates effectively.
Additionally, being in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, was an incredible experience. The country is beautiful, peaceful, and rich in history, with stunning nature and architecture. Completing my internship during the summer also meant I could enjoy the proximity to the Baltic Sea.
Conclusion
This internship not only helped me improve my technical skills but also contributed to my personal growth. The responsibilities I handled made me more mature and confident in my abilities. I became more organized, improved my problem-solving skills, and learned how to manage and delegate tasks efficiently. This experience also highlighted the importance of communication, which I plan to continue improving.
My international internship at Katrium was a rewarding experience. It provided me with a clearer understanding of my strengths and areas for development. I am grateful for this opportunity that has made me grow both professionally and personally.
