I’m from Croatia and study International Business in Rijeka. When I found Katrium, it seemed like a great fit. I had lived in Spain for two semesters during my Erasmus exchange. That experience made me interested in working with people from other cultures. I also liked that the internship was fully remote. It gave me the freedom to work from anywhere.
Starting the Internship
In my first week, I had a few meetings and I had to read through the company files. I started learning how Katrium works and how I would fit in. We also had a WhatsApp group for updates and help. That made it easier to stay in touch with the team.
Since the work was remote, I had to organize myself. I created a routine, managed my own time, and worked from home or even from a cafe while traveling. That freedom motivated me more.
What I Worked On
During the internship, I handled several tasks. Some were about market research. Others involved writing blog posts, which followed a clear set of rules. I also worked in Excel almost every day, organizing data and working with files.
One task involved research about Spain. Since I know some Spanish, it helped me find better results. I also explored how LinkedIn works, its algorithm, and the importance of SEO. I looked at how companies grow their pages and rank better. You can check Katrium’s LinkedIn page here and see.

What Was Hardest
For me, writing blogs was the hardest part. I didn’t enjoy it at first. I didn’t feel confident in my writing, and I wasn’t sure how to start. But I kept going.
I got feedback from my team, followed examples, and improved with each draft. Over time, writing became easier. Now I feel better and faster at it. That’s something I’m proud of.
How I Improved
Repeating tasks helped me learn. When I wrote more, I wrote faster. When I used Excel more, I felt more comfortable with it. The more I practiced, the better I got.
I also learned how to manage my time. I worked from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in my own time zone. I kept deadlines and stayed focused, even without direct supervision. That made me more independent.
Teamwork and Feedback
Even though the internship was remote, I never felt alone. The team was easy to reach. We shared updates in our group chat and supported each other.
I also had regular meetings with the CEO. We talked about the previous tasks and the next tasks. Feedback was always clear and helpful. It helped me understand what I could improve.
Skills I Learned
By the end of the internship, I had gained a lot of useful skills:
- Writing clear and simple blog posts
- Doing research with purpose
- Understanding LinkedIn and how to use it for business
- Working in Excel with confidence
- Staying organized and independent
- Communicating with a team across countries
I also made some suggestions on what we could improve. It felt good to take part and help in that way.
What I’ll Take With Me
I’m glad I made a real impact. The work I did wasn’t just practice; it was useful for the company. That means a lot to me.
At the start, I was unsure. I didn’t know how remote work would go or how I’d handle it. Now I feel confident. Katrium made me ready for my next job. Now I know I can take on challenges and figure things out. I just need time, effort, and support.
